Hanoi to Da Nang: An adventurous motorbike adventure on the Ho Chi Minh Trail
To not miss the beautiful routes, you should take a trip combining the routes together, you will go to Pu Luong before entering the famous Ho Chi Minh route.
Day 1: Hanoi – Pu Luong (~140km)
If your schedule is longer, you can choose Ninh Binh as an alternative destination. Spend a whole day in Ninh Binh, admire the poetic and lyrical nature that captivates people's hearts, and on the second day, go to Pu Luong.
If you only have one day for this itinerary, go straight to Pu Luong, it will be more suitable for motorbike travelers.
This place is famous for its rice fields, if your vacation is in September you will see the golden terraced fields and full of plum blossoms. Mai Chau is also a destination you can think of if you want to find an alternative location, Mai Chau has similar beautiful scenery to Pu Luong but this place is noisier and more bustling.

Day 2: Pu Luong – Vinh (~250km)
Today will be the day you begin your journey on the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
This section of the road is different from the rest of the Ho Chi Minh road, you will not see many houses or tall buildings on the road, all there are are fields full of green, giving you the feeling of being immersed in nature, riding a motorbike, and feeling comfortable.
This day is all about scenery.
Day 3: Vinh – Phong Nha (~210km)
On this day you will drive your motorbike away from the crowded city and find your way to nature. You will find joy in driving without any external factors affecting you, you are immersed in the feeling of driving, motorbike and you becoming one, enjoying the quietness on this stretch of road.
The terrain, the scenery, the colors, everything changes. In this stage, you have the opportunity to experience some tours to explore the Phong Nha area with many caves. If your time is not limited, you can spend one or two days to stop and rest here. Relax with the mountains, caves and participate in some interesting tourist activities in Phong Nha.
Day 4: Phong Nha – Khe Sanh (~200km)
There are very few gas stations on this route, so you must be prepared and thorough, fill up your gas tank and if possible bring with you a container of about 1 - 2 liters of gas, you will not need to worry about fuel on the way.
This is the best route to drive a motorbike on the Ho Chi Minh trail, you will be driving along Phong Nha National Park, under the shade of the trees. The interesting thing about this route is that you will encounter a lot of people on the way to drive a motorbike through this area. Surrounded by poetic nature, enjoy its beauty, you will be immersed in the scenery here.

Day 5: Khe Sanh – Hue (~180km)
This leg you can go straight to Hue along the coastal road or go directly to Da Nang via the mountain road. Both of these roads are beautiful and offer different experiences.
Day 6: Hue – Hoi An – Da Nang (~150km)
Today there won't be much need to drive the motorbike, this route will give you some time to see the city.
From Hue to Hoi An we will drive through Da Nang, you will experience the feeling of driving a motorbike around Hai Van Pass - the natural boundary between Hue and Da Nang.
Coming to Hoi An, you have the opportunity to enjoy Hoi An ancient town, Coconut Forest boat tour and boat trip on Thu Bon River.
At the end of the day, you can drive back to Da Nang by motorbike or stay in Hoi An for 1 night and then return to Da Nang. In the middle of this trip, you can visit Ngu Hanh Son, a famous place with natural beauty, limestone mountains and caves, the sculpture of nature bestowed upon the people here.
