Hanoi to Da Nang — Ride the S Southbound
8 days · 1554 km · Ninh Binh, Phong Nha & the Ho Chi Minh Road
Overview
About this tour
The same legendary route as our Da Nang to Hanoi ride, flipped on its head. You leave the noise of Hanoi behind on day one and drop straight into the limestone karsts of Ninh Binh, then follow the coast south through Sam Son and Vinh. From there the road turns inland to Phong Nha-Ke Bang, where a full day is set aside for Paradise Cave and a boat trip into the river cave. The final stages are the best of the whole ride: the Ho Chi Minh Road through Khe Sanh and the A Shau Valley, the Imperial City of Hue, and a last run over the Hai Van Pass into Da Nang. Riding it southbound means you finish on the coast with the sea in front of you instead of in city traffic.
